This book is a summary of what you need to know and apply to design the production processes, with all the elements that require the operations that comprise them (materials, machines, installations, transport elements ...), in a plant prepared for this purpose.

In fact, the book covers the dual mission of process and plant engineering: designing, developing and organizing processes and their operations, following the guidelines of the management model used, trying to optimize the key magnitudes of efficiency, such as productivity, quality, processing time or stock generated. On the other hand, the other mission is to determine and acquire the necessary technical machinery and equipment, adjusting their characteristics to the needs of the processes.

In addition, the design and organization of processes and production plants must be adjusted to a management model, and here comes a new dichotomy: traditional thinking against advanced management models, especially lean manufacturing, which has a very different form to focus on engineering, which will obviously mean a very different treatment, which is widely reflected in this work.
