The main objective of this work is to lay the foundations for the application of the current of Lean Management in healthcare, improving the quality of healthcare, offering better patient services and improving the capabilities of the human healthcare team.

The contents try to cover the basic knowledge of Lean Management in a systematized way and at the same time create a base so that the reader can deepen more in an autonomous way and understand the benefits that it contributes to the management of health systems.

The content proposal becomes a reference in terms of knowledge and application structure of lean management in healthcare. The content of the work is distributed in two parts, one that includes introductory content on the Lean methodology and a second with practical questions and approaches.

The authors have extensive experience in the application of Lean Management and its application to medical care and analyze the potential of Lean Management as a management system and framework for the design of the healthcare delivery systems of the future.
